Wolseley 18/85 photograph.

In the 1960s all the major manufacturers were into re-badging basic saloons as more exclusive sounding variants. The 18/85 Wolseley was a badge-engineered BMC 1800 that was also available in Austin and Morris versions. The end for the Wolseley marque was in sight. Early Princesses were available with a tiny Wolseley grille tacked on the front but they soon disappeared and that was curtains for this once-great motor manufacturer. This 18/85 looks very original and its good to see examples being saved now.

Wolseley Books Whether for the 18/85 as shown below, or any other type of Wolseley, it is worth having a look on Amazon for books, DVDs, Videos etc.

Can you tell me any more about this Wolseley 18/85? If you're into these cars, or other types of classic Wolseleys, and would like to see your car featured in the Your Car Stories section at oldclassiccar, by all means get in touch as I'd like to feature as many original or restored 18/85s as possible.

All the pictures featured here were taken by myself at the August event in 2004.

I've attended this show at Tatton for many many years. You can see some of the other 79 photos I took at the August '04 show on this page.
