Austin Ambassador photograph.

The big old Ambassador was ssentially a re-work of the BL Princess for the 1980s. At last the wedgy shape benefited from the hatchback that the earlier car should have really had (the Princess just had an awkward bootlid). This one looks like a real minter - probably a low mileage well cared for example. Power comes courtesy of a 1700cc 4 cylinder engine. The Ambassador shown here dates to 1984.

Austin Books Whether for the Ambassador as shown below, or any other type of Austin, it is worth having a look on Amazon for books, DVDs, Videos etc.

Can you tell me any more about this Austin Ambassador? If you're into these cars, or other types of classic Austins, and would like to see your car featured in the Your Car Stories section at oldclassiccar, by all means get in touch as I'd like to feature as many original or restored Ambassadors as possible.

All the pictures featured here were taken by myself at the August event in 2004.

I've attended this show at Tatton for many many years. You can see some of the other 79 photos I took at the August '04 show on this page.
