Classic Austin Maxi HL.
Not a car you see in regular use any more as most Maxis have long since been on a one-way trip to the scrapyard. This late-ish example of Maxi HL is in great nick and obviously well cared for. The very early Maxis (1867/8ish) had a very dodgy cable operated gearchange that was known to be less-than-reliable.
Austin Books Whether for the Maxi HL as shown below, or any other type of Austin, it is worth having a look on Amazon for books, DVDs, Videos etc.

Maxi HL on display at Tatton Park, Cheshire.
If you have any more info or restoration stories about this particular Maxi HL, or Maxi HLs in general, I'd really like to feature it on oldclassiccar.
I took all these photos at the classic & vintage show held at Tatton Park, in June 2005. The Austin shown above was one of several hundred vehicles held in the grounds of this National Trust property.
