The Rally Of The Tests historic car rally held in November 2005
Notes on this classic Sunbeam Harrington Le Mans seen on 13th Nov 2005.
Based on the Sunbeam Alpine is the fastback Harrington Le Mans. Power still comes from the Rootes 1600cc engine. A modernish BMW is getting in the way slightly. Few of these fastback Alpine variants survive - this one was produced in 1962.
This picture, of an early Harrington Le Mans, is photo number 38 of 95 images that I've put up on the site showing the historic rally cars that took part in this event in 2005. Please go to the main Rally Of The Tests photos page to see the other 94 photos! All were taken during a mid-morning stop-over between competitive stages during the rally on Sunday 13th November. The venue was the former secret nuclear bunker at Hack Green, near Nantwich in Cheshire.
