In its day the Edsel became something of an embarassment to the Ford Motor Co. Owners of Edsels would hide their cars rather than be seen out in them in the late 50s and early 60s. Nowadays they have shrugged off this slightly tarnished image and are seen as a cool set of wheels to drive around in.
