Healey Silverstone.
This Healey (JBY 220) was on display at the Lakeland Motor Museum in 2007. Various signs are dotted around the walls including North British Clincher Tyres and various advertisements for Dunlop tyres. The Silverstone was produced only between 1949 and 1950. The engine used was a twin cam Riley unit of 2.5 litres in capacity. The coachwork was in aluminium with the headlamps hidden behind the grille (similar to how Peugeot treated illuminations on some of their early cars eg the 402). The Healey Silverstone was a strict 2 seater in order to keep weight down and aid acceleration. The spare wheel was mounted in the rear of the car - the tyre doubling up as the rear bumper! Only 105 were built - perhaps due to the recent launch of Jaguar's XK120.
