Triumph Gloria special Photo.
I first saw this unusual car parked in a lockup near Runcorn. Next time I came across this car it was taking part in a New Year car gathering in 2007. From the scuttle back it is largely Gloria. From the rear-hinged bonnet forward it has been well modified - probably many years ago. The front wings look like they started life on a Riley RM and the bonnet is a one-off. From memory the engine was a later Triumph unit as were both axles (the original Gloria had spoked wheels). The end result is a unique 'special' and a very usable pre-war car.

Several thousand photographs are shown in the old car galleries at oldclassiccar. The Triumph Gloria special above is one of 120 images in the Miscellaneous Photographs Set 4 archive, you can see the remaining photos in this set here. A full index of all the photographs is on the main cars, vans and lorries photo section.
Most of the images in this set were taken by myself here in the UK, and some sent in by visitors to the site from Australia, America, Sweden and The Netherlands! If the Gloria special shown here is yours, it'd be great to include some more information about it on this page if possible! I'm always on the lookout for photographs of cars that don't yet feature in the transport photos section, so if you have any photos to share, perhaps of other Triumphs, or different styles of Gloria specials, then by all means drop me a line, it'd be great to hear from you and see your pictures.
