1960s Renault 8.
The French-built Renault 8 came along in 1962 and was sold for 9 years alongside the higher-spec 10 which was introduced in 1965. Spanish built 8s continued til 1976. Early cars were known as the R8 and switched to just '8' from 1964 onwards. Unusual for a car of its size was disc brakes on all four wheels.

Photographs of classic Renaults, 8s and other old motors.

The Renault photograph above wasn't taken by me, but by G. King, and is shown on oldclassiccar with his permission. His photos were taken at various locations a few years ago, including photos of classic Renaults such as the 8 shown above. From what I can tell, some of the cars and vans featured were seen at shows (eg at the NEC and Alexandra Palace in London), whereas others were spotted out and about in daily use, or parked up at the side of the road. If you own the Renault shown here, or know the story of this particular 8, by all means get in touch.
