Foden Traction engine picture.
This handsome machine would have been built not far from Astle in the Foden works in Sandbach. This example seen in steam was built in 1899 and is the oldest vehicle featured on oldclassiccar I think!

Do you have any info on this particular exhibit? I'd be happy to add to (or correct!) the information I have on this Traction engine.
All the photos in this section were taken at Astle Park in 2005, on what was a very very rainy day! The Foden shown above got a real drenching - top marks to the owners of all the old vehicles on show, I'm sure they'd rather their prized vehicles were tucked away out of the inclement weather. Despite the efforts of mother nature, the Traction engine looked really well and is a credit to its owner.
