Opel Kapitan 1951-1953.
By the time that this Opel Kapitan had been built, the model was already in its third generation. The first Kapitans were launched in 1938, with the updated car hitting the streets in 1948. The third generation Kapitan entered production three years later, in 1951, and was built until 1953 when a thoroughly-revised Kapitan took over in Opel's showrooms.

The 1951-1953 car shown below can most easily be distinguished from its earlier brothers by the semi-enclosed rear wheel arch, something that didn't appear on either of the earlier variants. Front end styling was also updated in line with current trends. The Kapitan was still powered by the familiar 2.5 litre straight six engine, coupled to a three speed 'box.
