Vintage lorries, vans and trucks at this Gaydon event.
Photos from this large show for all classic & antique commercial vehicles.
For one weekend every year, the earth around the Gaydon Heritage Museum reverberates to the roar of Gardner, Perkins and other mighty engines, as the classic lorries and light commercials that take part in this show rumble into the showground. This has to be one of the biggest antique truck shows held in the UK, combining both a sizeable autojumble, and a huge array of older lorries and vans, both large and small, restored or left in working condition.
British makes feature strongly as you'd expect, with classy iron from AEC, Bedford, Foden, ERF, Dodge, Albion, Atkinson and all the other favourites on display. Overseas marques are not forgotten either, with much interest being shown in continental trucks from manufacturers such as Volvo and MAN rubbing shoulders with many defunct British makes. The United States was represented too, with stylish offerings such as the 1933 Diamond T showing that American styling prior to WW2 was just as interesting as that found on British wagons, with a specification often more advanced than that found on some of the home-grown offerings.
I hope you find these photographs of interest - to see pics from other classic vehicle shows, have a look at the main car show photos page!
