Vintage AC touring car.

Bill was kind enough to send over the following photograph. The car, a vintage AC touring car, belonged to a relative in Australia. About the car and its owner, Bill adds: "This car was owned by Hermann Henry Ising who died on July 8 1928 aged 70. My interest in Hermann was that he was married to a relation, Lucy Woodhead. Hermann lived in Adelaide South Australia, and his obituary mentioned that he became an avid motorist in latter years and made several successful overland trips to Melbourne in the AC."

AC tourer from the 1920s
What a fantastic car. But what model is it? An AC Acedes perhaps? I've seen photographs of a 12hp model that looks similar to the car shown above, with four-stud wheels and similar lamps, also exhibiting the very curved design of scuttle ahead of the windscreen. But I wonder if it might in fact be a 16hp tourer? Hopefully someone better versed in AC motor-cars of the 1920s will be along shortly with a positive identification.
Later ACs have featured in this image archive for some time now (eg the AC 2-Litre, and the Ace sports-car), they can be found in the main index of images at the page below. This though is the first vintage, 1920s, AC to feature here, so thanks Bill for supplying this excellent old photo.
